We have put together some of the most common questions and answers. If you don’t see your question here please feel free to send us an email.

We will be glad to answer to the best of our knowledge.

01

With so many other tattoo studios around Atlanta, why should I choose to get tattooed at Not of This World Tattoo & Piercing?

Our artists go to great lengths to ensure that every client receives the best possible tattoo. We will not only listen to your ideas, but we will counsel you on the optimum size, placement, and design. Our friendly artists are extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of tattoo design and application so you can trust that you are in good hands.

02

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments at this time are necessary. Walk ins only happen if you are extremely lucky. We do understand that "life happens" and that keeping an appointment can be difficult at times. Please be kind to our artists and clients by cancelling if you cannot make your scheduled appointment. We simply ask that you contact us within 48 hours of your appointment. If you fail to contact within 48 hours or do not contact us what so ever, you forefit your non-refundable deposit. We require a deposit for all appointments. Your deposit will be applied to the total cost of your tattoo at the completion of your service. Please visit the appointment page to place your deposit.

03

Does it hurt?

Yes it hurts. We are using needles to permanently insert pigments into your skin. The pain varies from person to person but is similar to a cat scratch or a hair pull.

04

Are Tattoos Addictive?

Good ones are! Which is why it’s important to get your tattoo from a licensed studio. If you are letting your buddy tattoo you out of his living room- you are only hurting yourself and degrading the industry.

05

How much does a tattoo cost?

The cost of your tattoo depends on a number of factors including size, placement, skin type, and color vs. black and gray. We are not a $25.00 shop nor are we TV celebrities. For smaller tattoos, we will generally quote you a price up-front. For larger tattoos, your artist may opt to quote you per session rate.

06

Can I get a price quote?

We will try our best to give you a price estimate. Please be prepared to send in references and a clear photo of just the body part where the tattoo will go. There is absolutely no way a price can be given until we see what we are doing, size, location, detail, etc... If you are looking for a quality tattoo or piercing done in clean sterile conditions by a competent knowledgeable person, which is what we offer, you are not going to find that type of work by going to the person charging half the price of everyone else. We are looking for clients that care about what they will be receiving, and want the procedures done right, clean, and sterile. With that said, what we charge is fair prices for the working class! Tattoos start at a minimum of $65 and go up from there.

07

I'm 17, can I get a tattoo if my parent signs for me?

No, Georgia state law requires that you be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. Furthermore, we believe that you will inevitably regret a tattoo that you receive at such a young age since you are still growing physically and mentally.

08

How old do you have to be for a piercing?

We require you to be 18 years of age or older to get a piercing. Sorry we cannot pierce babies or children. No exceptions! NO, WE WILL NOT PIERCE YOU IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 EVEN WITH YOUR PARENT, SO DON'T ASK!!

09

What are your hours?

Not of This World Tattoo & Piercing is open Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm (noon) - 6pm. Friday and Saturday from 12pm (noon) -6pm. We are closed on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.

We do not start any tattoo over 3 inches at or after 4pm. We are not a late night shop, we would like to get home to our children.

10

Where are you located?

Not of This World Tattoo & Piercing

980 Main Street

Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083

11

Where should I park my car?

The best place to park is the village parking lot just past the East Mountain/West Mountain traffic light on the right with the gazebo in the center of it. The shop is just four doors up from the parking lot on the left once you park heading toward the Health Nut. Parking across the street at the closed beauty salon in the gravel is okay but always feel free to ask us about your parking.

12

Are tattoos safe?

We can't speak for every tattoo studio, but here at Not of This World Tattoo & Piercing , your health and safety is our highest priority. In addition to providing new needles for every client, we also adhere to strict procedures to avoid cross-contamination. You can expect to see disposable ink holders, disposable razors, and barriers on everything that must be touched during the tattoo process. We work closely with the Dekalb County Department of Health to ensure that our methods comply with the most current guidelines.

My piercing is infected what should I do?

If you think that your piercing is infected or you have any issues with your piercing, please send us an email or set up an appointment for a piercing check. FYI we will probably tell you to make your appointment to come in.
